Being and time is a virtual reality experience exploring the quantum field in present space and time. In classical physics, fields are associated with physical quantities that vary continuously in space and time, such as the electric and magnetic fields. In quantum physics, the concept of a field is extended, and particles are described as excitations or disturbances in these fields. The title is a nod to Martin Heidegger’s book "Being and Time" which revolves around the investigation of the nature of being, particularly the question of what it means to "be." Heidegger seeks to understand the fundamental structures of human existence and how individuals relate to the world. The work is a departure from traditional philosophical approaches and challenges many of the assumptions of Western metaphysics.

Although the concept of Being and Time and the Quantum Field belong to different realms of philosophy and science, Heidegger's existential analysis highlights the role of human perception and interpretation in shaping our experience of reality. Quantum physics introduces the idea that our observations and measurements can influence the behaviour of particles. There's a parallel here in how our participation in the world, according to Heidegger, is integral to the construction of our reality.
